#Hoptails You can Make

My friend Chef Sher and I ran a Beer Workshop at Social Offline on Church Street on May 10, 2015. We taught people the basics about Beer and also made our own re-mixed our own version of Beer cocktails using Kingfisher Premium Lager. Participants received a booklet we designed that included a few beer cocktail recipes. We like calling them #Hoptails just because we can!

Whoa you say! Why Beer Cocktails? Simple, lagers are great for mixing and you aren’t going to ruin any of the flavor profiles. Craft Beer on the other hand is best enjoyed straight off the tap in it’s native form. I say WTF – Worth The Froth!

Assemble you ingredients before hand, have a beer or two to calm your nerves, roll up those sleeves and start mixing!

 1. Shandy’s Beer (Don’t Ask Don’t Tell)

Ingredients

  • 30ml (Single) Grenadine syrup or Pomegranate Syrup
  • Ice Cubes
  • 30ml (Single) Orange Juice
  • 30ml (Single) Lemon Juice
  • 30ml (Single) Vodka
  • ½ Bottle KF 330ml

How To Make It: Pour the Grenadine first, add ice cubes. Then pour vodka followed by orange & lemon juice. Top up with beer.

If you’re too lazy to make this at home, Church Street Social has a Longdrinks Festival going on right now for a limited time – try their Slim Shandy – Typical Long Island Iced Tea liquor mix, peach and orange juice along with a beer all mixed in and served in a long beaker – pretty darn neat and boy do they go down smooth – slurp em down as fast as you can with your friends to win cool prizes.

When: July 2nd 2015 to July 31, 2015

Why Church Street Social?

If I am not at a brewpub, you’ll find me at Social for a simple reason – I love their #innovation, their co-working space, catchy interiors, hashtags, chilled out tunes, bands, DJ’s and funky workshops,  food, cocktails,  and best of all their staff – go play a game of fussball with them and treat them right – they’ll look after you!

I ran my first beer workshop #Beer101 one there and it worked really well. We’ll be doing #Beer102 in a few weeks – watch for the messaging.

Don’t forget to hit the Like button to follow my blog updates via Facebook! Cheers, Stay Frothy and See YOU at Social for a few cocktails and #Beer102.
